Has anyone asked you what your costs are to maintain your buildings and grounds and how do they compare to districts of similar size and location?
Are your custodians responsible for more or less square footage than similar districts?
How many districts have privatized custodial services? How did privatization impact costs?
Have we reduced our expenses in the maintenance and operations area? If so, by how much over time?
These are common questions school administrators are asked every day. How do you respond? If your district has not participated in the MSBO Facilities Benchmarking Survey, it may be hard to answer these questions. Don’t worry; there is still time.
We’ve extended the deadline to participate to November 18. We know you have to get your FID completed and that is your priority, but this survey does not require audited numbers and does not take long to complete.
Of course, you can just get much of this information from various think tanks in the state – or you can help us provide a credible tool for you to use when looking at your facilities operations.
This survey is provided free of charge, but without a reasonable number of responses it is difficult to continue providing what we feel is a very valuable service.
